DLSC ENGLISH 2 - Unified Analysis

Topic: Why are humans so fascinated with understanding the universe?

Purpose: To give insight and possibly trigger deep thought of audience regarding human nature and the universe

Strategy: Narration, Description, Exemplification, Definition, Analysis of Cause and Effect, Process Analysis

Title: "Why we try to understand the universe"

Outline:

I. Introduction

Question: "Why do we, humans, spend enormous amounts of resources; time, money, etc; to try and grasp the true meaning of our existence in the universe?"

II. Heading One

Answer One: Because no amount of anything will ever quench our thirst, our need, our innate desire for knowledge.

A. supporting idea

Humans are naturally curious

B. supporting idea

Humans need knowledge to survive

III. Heading Two

Answer 2: Because earth won't last forever. We're searching for hope.

A. supporting idea

Humans are living on the only reachable (at this time) planet that is capable of supporting intelligent life. (Perfect Storm/Clockwork statement)

B. supporting idea

There are other potentially habitable planets out there. They're just out of our reach. We need advancement.

IV. Closing/Conclusion

Humans (we) try to understand the universe to find out why we exist. This question might never be answered but we will never stop to try and find the answer, but in the meantime we have to, well, continue existing.
