DLSC ARTMUSIC - PLATO REACTION 2

Plato says a "good life" is “not an egoistic, amoral enjoyment of power and sensual satisfaction” but a “moderate life of reason and justice”.

Based on some of Plato's works that I've read, I'd say his "good life" belief is biased and against the customary (maybe necessary) activities of politicians and elitism.

I think I could relate Plato's "good life" meaning with today's well known "Ignorance is bliss" saying. Since ignorant people tend to have less to uphold/sustain and therefore worry about, they might claim that they have a "good life". They might not even care about advancement (which requires work-which may produce result anxiety-but the results are worth it) for everyone's benefit. They are usually satisfied with what they have (may have petty wants) because they are unaware that there is always something better and (workable) accessible out there.

Then there's the "I think therefore I am depressed" saying. I also find this relevant to Plato's definition of a "good life" because most thinkers might never truly achieve a "good life" due to their never-ending quest for advancement and better things. And since they are never satisfied with what they have, they are constantly plagued by worry.

Plato says art is detrimental to people. I disagree.

I believe that humans can create art due to their higher intelligence. When humans use their higher intelligence to create art, it may show their superiority to all other forms of life. And with superiority comes the responsibility to sustain their heightened status by preserving all other forms of life.

An example of human art that could represent superiority and preservation is green architecture. It is both aesthetically pleasing and useful.

I am Juan Ma. Antonio Sikat Suarez. "Anton" is my nickname.

I was born in Bangkok on April 14, 1991 to a happily married Spanish-Filipino father and a Chinese-Filipina mother. I am 19 years old.

My college course at De La Salle Canlubang Philippines is Communication Arts wherein I have less than 3 years remaining.--I plan to take Commercial Aviation classes after.

I chose the above artwork to represent me because it has depth. I can come up with infinite ideas; stories, people, feelings, etc.; by just looking at it.
The artist seems to have managed to merge three popular, highly profitable genres: Sci-Fi, Fantasy, and Steampunk.
I've been playing with these concepts for quite a while through drawings, writing, or just imagination.

I appreciate this quote because it could mean that a person's unique psychological profile could be seen through that person's art. Dreams, desires, preferences; whatever occupies a person's mind can be seen through their art.

It could also be viewed as some sort of autobiography but not just in words.
